Friend --
The news broke yesterday in the Star-Advertiser that a judge is halting the condo tower construction of one of the planned high-rises in Kaka`ako on Oahu. And that the State Historic Preservation Division (SHPD) may have overlooked cultural findings.
As I have stated publicly numerous times, the current administration is not addressing the public concerns regarding this rampant development.
We need to abide, throughout Hawaii, by the environmental and cultural regulations our state has enacted and respect the cultural history and legacy of our people.
I support responsible development in Honolulu's urban core and the jobs it creates. This project is priced more reasonably for the Hawaii market, but it is now stalled due to lack of following state rules.
We need a new direction. You need a new voice….
