Djou: I’m In!
By Rep Charles Djou @ 1:19 AM :: 5743 Views :: Politicians, Republican Party

I'm In!

Aloha,                April 3, 2014

This morning, I announced that I am running for the open seat to represent Hawaii’s First Congressional District.

Like many of you, I am deeply disappointed by the incumbent politicians who aren’t listening and continue to place their partisan interests above those of the average local resident.  From a government shutdown to Obamacare, they have harmed individual hard-working Americans, and imposed policies that favor special interests over our country.

I hope I can count on your support now, as I have in the past.

As a father of three, an American soldier, and public servant, I can no longer sit on the sidelines.  You deserve a representative that will always put your interests first. You deserve to have someone in Washington, DC, who will fight for our country, our children and our future – to create jobs, and make sure people can afford to live in our beautiful state.

At stake is nothing less than whether we will continue to be a great nation or whether we will slide behind countries such as China and Russia.   At stake is whether our children will find good jobs, whether our families will be able to stay in Hawai‘i, whether we will have the resources to protect our environment and provide the social services we've promised.

As your congressman, I never forgot that every dollar the government spends comes from your family, or a family like yours. I have always fought for fiscal responsibility and never voted for a tax increase.

One person can make a difference in Washington.  But no one can do it alone.  That is a key building block of change.  I sincerely appreciate your past support for change in Hawaii.  I need your support again today.

A serious run for U.S. Congress will require substantial campaign funds.  Your early support is needed.  So I ask you now to renew your commitment for change in Hawai‘i and change in Washington.  Your contribution of any amount will demonstrate to the pundits in Washington the strength and support behind our campaign.

These are unsettling times but I can be a voice in stopping our government from hurting our keiki and kupuna in Hawai'i.  With your help we can fight back.

Mahalo in advance for your generous support!  Please call or contact me with your questions, suggestions and concerns.  I need to hear from you, and I look forward to standing alongside you once again as we fight for change in Hawai‘i and Washington!

Aloha,

Charles Djou
