Connector Celebrates 4th Anniversary of Health Care Law, Urges Consumers to Apply for Coverage Before March 31 Deadline
News Release from Hawaii Health Connector March 24, 2014
HONOLULU, HI – The Hawai‘i Health Connector, in celebration of the fourth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), is urging individuals and families to submit applications for health care coverage in a final push before the March 31 deadline.
"The Affordable Care Act built upon Hawai‘i’s progressive Prepaid Health Care Act to give Hawaii’s residents options so that they don't fall between the cracks," said Tom Matsuda, interim executive director of the Hawai‘i Health Connector. "Thanks to these laws working together, many residents can get coverage that fits their needs. Individuals, families and small businesses could be eligible for less expensive plans compared to what they currently have. I urge Hawai‘i residents to sign up before March 31."
To submit an application, the Connector has a number of resources available to individuals and families:
- The online marketplace lets consumers start an application immediately.
- In person assistance is provided by Kōkua at numerous locations statewide. Consumers can find the Kōkua nearest them with the locator tool on the Connector website.
