Hawaii Republican Party Hosts Successful Lincoln Day Dinner
By Andy Mukk, Vice Chair for Communications, Hawaii Republican Party, February 23, 2014
Nearly 300 Hawaii Republicans heard a powerful and compelling message last Thursday night at our annual Lincoln Day Dinner from Martha McSally, our keynote speaker and a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from the 2nd Congressional District of Arizona, in a race drawing nationwide attention.
As an Air Force officer, she became the first U.S. female pilot to fly in combat and to command a fighter squadron in combat. Her life history as an Ironman triathlon winner in the women's military category and a woman who successfully challenged a Department of Defense policy which required U.S. military women to wear a Muslim burka while off base in Saudi Arabia, consistently demonstrated she has what it takes to persevere and win.
The key points our 2014 candidates and members heard from her military and political career culminated in a compelling call to action.
Martha McSally's message brought Republicans to their feet in a sustained standing ovation. Inspired and grateful for her eloquent example, Hawaii Republicans went home confident, energized to support our candidates in 2014.

Message to Supporters from Hawaii Republican Party February 21, 2014
Last night, nearly 300 Hawaii Republicans gathered at Ko’olau Ballrooms for our 2014 Lincoln Day Dinner. Among the enthusiastic crowd were new candidates, elected officials, and grassroots leaders.
Our keynote speaker, retired Air Force Colonel and Arizona congressional candidate Martha McSally spoke about affecting change, even against all odds.
“If not now, when? If not us, who? If not here, then where?” McSally said in closing her powerful remarks.
Chairman David Chang spoke about the year ahead and the changes our Party is making to improve our ground game, promote messages that resonate with the people of Hawaii, and help our candidates win in November.

"I Am a Republican" - Hawaii Republican Party 2014
We know that 2014 will be a great year for our Party. In less than two months, we’ve welcome hundreds of new members, many new district and precinct leaders, and candidates all over the state. The latest polls show that Republicans can win this year, which is why we are working hard to establish a stronger Hawaii Republican Party than ever before.
