National Republicans Meet With Grassroots Volunteers in Hawaii
By David S Chang @ 11:28 PM :: 4840 Views :: Republican Party

Hawaii Republicans continue to work hard for a better Hawaii!

by David Chang, Chairman Hawaii Republican Party

This past Tuesday, we had the honor of welcoming Demetra Demonte, Secretary of the Republican National Committee, who provided special training on grassroots organizing to a capacity crowd of our county, district, and precinct chairs at our Honolulu headquarters.

We continue to reach out to Hawaii voters who want to see real change. Also this past Tuesday evening, Hawaii House of Representatives members Aaron Ling Johanson, Minority Leader; Beth Fukumoto Chang, Minority Floor Leader; and I were warmly welcomed as we presented an update on the current legislative session and issues of concern such as the controversial Pono Choices school curriculum to an interested audience at the Inspire Church in Waikele. We have more talks scheduled this coming year!

Mahalo to all of our members, friends, and supporters who signed up for our Lincoln Day Dinner which will be held this coming Thursday, February 20 at 6:00 PM at the beautiful Ko`olau Ballrooms in Kaneohe.  We're thrilled to have retired Air Force Colonel Martha McSally, a candidate for the U.S. House from the Second Congressional District of Arizona, as our keynote speaker.  We anticipate an inspiring message of how she has prevailed against overwhelming odds as she faced numerous challenges during her military career, and now in her highly competitive race for Congress, one of the most highly watched in our nation.  We'll also showcase our announced candidates for 2014. Hawaii talk radio legend Mike Buck will be the Master of Ceremonies for an unforgettable evening.

A special mahalo to our members who came out to the various statewide caucuses over the past month where we elected delegates to our upcoming state convention in May which will handle various party business such as reviewing our party platform and issues resolutions.  If you're a member of the Hawaii Republican Party and you weren't able to attend your local caucus, please call party headquarters at 808-593-8180 if you wish to be a delegate or alternate.

Please join me every Thursday morning at 6:30 to 7:00 am on 95.5 The Fish with Dawn O'Brien and 7am to 8am on 690am with Mike Buck. Also join our conversation and "like" us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/HawaiiRepublicanParty and follow us on Twitter @gophawaii. Learn more about us at http://www.gophawaii.com.

Mahalo for your support and joining with us to make Hawaii a better and more affordable place to live for everyone!
