Hawaii Republicans are active and working hard for a better Hawaii!

by David Chang, Chairman Hawaii Republican Party

On January 30, nearly 300 people honored former Congresswoman Pat Saiki at the Waialae Country Club in a fundraising dinner for the Hawaii Republican Party's Capital Campaign. Many of Pat's friends honored her many accomplishments, including being instrumental in passing legislation in the U.S. Congress to provide reparation payments to Japanese Americans interned during World War II.  Former President George H.W. Bush, who in 1991 appointed Pat as the Director of the Small Business Administration (making Pat the first Asian-American to lead a Federal agency), sent a congratulatory letter which was read celebrating her many accomplishments in decades of service to her community, state, and nation. We thank our many generous donors and all proceeds will go to the Capital Campaign to help pay down the mortgage on the Hawaii Republican Party Headquarters on Kapiolani Boulevard in Honolulu.

Our district caucuses are underway and so far I'm very pleased with the results.  At your district caucus, you'll have the opportunity to meet elected Republican officials and/or leadership of our state and county Republican Parties. You'll also be electing delegates to our state convention in May which will approve our party platform, resolutions, and handle other party business.  Please visit our website at http://www.gophawaii.com/2014-district-caucuses/ for information on when and where your caucus will be held.

We're very honored to have national conservative talk radio host Michael Medved join us for a "Talk Story" on Wednesday, February 5, at 7:00 PM at Hawaii Republican Party Headquarters, 725 Kapiolani Boulevard., Suite #C-105. Michael will discuss his "Three Point Plan for Conservative Victory". Admission is only $10 per person with free validated parking.  Please come join us and RSVP at http://www.gophawaii.com/medved/.

Finally, we still have tables and seats available for our annual Lincoln Day Dinner which will be held on February 20 at 6:00 PM at the beautiful Ko`olau Ballrooms and Conference Center, 45-550 Kionaole Road in Kaneohe.

We're greatly honored to welcome retired Air Force Colonel Martha McSally, the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat and to command a fighter squadron in combat in our nation's history. She's a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Southern Arizona and is running one of the closest watched campaigns in our nation.  An inspiring speaker and outstanding senior military officer, Martha was named as one of the "Nine Women Remaking the Right" along with our own State Representative Beth Fukumoto by the national "Daily Beast" news website.

You'll also be able to hear from and meet our Republican elected officials and candidates.

You won't want to miss this great event!  Please watch this short video invitation from Martha McSally to our Lincoln Day Dinner at http://youtu.be/0MbXJ_UWV5I.

Please register now online at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/lincoln-day-dinner-tickets-9658363425?aff=gophawaiicom or contact our Finance Director, Mr. Blake Parsons, at 808-593-8180, e-mail blake@gophawaii.com

Mahalo for your support of the Hawaii Republican Party. As you can see, momentum is building up and we have quite a few exciting events coming up! We welcome you to join us at all of our events and look forward to hearing your ideas on how we can make Hawaii a better and more affordable place to live for everyone.
