MONSANTO HAWAII ANNOUNCES ENHANCED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EFFORT

News Release from Monsanto Hawaii January 27, 2014

Welcome to www.MonsantoHawaii.com. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and our Hawaii operations. We look forward to hearing what you think in the coming days, weeks and months.

While there has been a lot of discussion about Monsanto, there seems to be little understanding about our operations and what we do.  We want to change that and we hope that over time that we can develop a better understanding of what we do.

But that’s not all.  We want to learn about you too. We want to know about your questions and your opinions about how we can be better neighbors. While we pride ourselves on our responsible stewardship of the land and our good farming practices, we also want to be good neighbors who are transparent about our operations and responsive to your concerns.

To that end we have developed this site. We hope you like it and find it useful, that it will provide a better understanding of what we do, and provide you the opportunity to ask questions of us. We will be answering questions along the way to help with that better understanding.

As part of our mission to promote an open dialogue, we are also going to do more to reach out to you in an effort to have a better, more productive conversation about what we currently do and what we might do differently to help build a stronger relationship with Hawaii.

We are doing this with a sincere desire to have a conversation in the true spirit of dialogue. We hope that our conversation will be based on facts and accurate information, and we will do our part to provide transparency to our operations to facilitate that.

We understand that people are protective of their families and the islands, and would like to know more about how the lands are being protected by Monsanto Hawaii. While we have been good farmers and good stewards of the land, we recognize that we can do more to be better listeners.
