Omnibus Tax Bill Introduced to Help Low and Moderate Income Households

Hawaii taxes those with incomes at or near poverty greater than all but 3 other states in the nation. Hawaii Appleseed Center has issued a report entitled "Creating a Fairer State Tax System and Economy for All Families" and has authored a proposed bill containing four components that will significantly improve the economic vitality of low and moderate income households throughout the state.
The Hawaii legislature will begin its 2014 session on January 15th and conclude during the first week in May.
