UHERO Asia-Pacific Forecast: Pacific Rim Will Edge Forward After Weak 2013
UHERO December 6, 2013
The developed world has continued to perform below potential this year, limiting global demand growth and the performance of the export oriented economies of the Pacific Rim. Europe is only now beginning to claw its way back from an austerity-induced contraction, while the US is suffering from less-severe budget woes. Japan has rebounded from last year’s recession, but it is going to face fiscal shocks of its own in coming years. Still, conditions in the global economy appear to have stabilized, and next year promises to be a slightly better one for the Asia-Pacific region.
