Res 13-216: Stop Unfair Water Billing
By Councilmember Kymberly Marcos Pine @ 11:23 PM :: 5403 Views :: Honolulu County, Cost of Living

From Office of Councilmember Kymberly Marcos Pine

Aloha,     November 7, 2013

Our communities are strongly opposed to the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) unfair billing practices which forced thousands of O‘ahu residents to subsidize the errors caused by BWS' own faulty billing system.

This is why I introduced Resolution 13-216 to prevent BWS from adjusting your old water bills to “back-bill” you when there is a billing mistake. A public hearing on the resolution will be held next Wednesday, November 13th at 10:00 a.m., at Honolulu Hale.

This is a crucial moment and it needs at least six votes to move forward which is why now more than ever that I need your support!

If you, your ‘ohana or a friend have been affected by this unfair billing practice I need you to share your story at the public hearing.

Click here to sign up as a speaker. Even if you cannot attend, your story is crucial to moving Resolution 13-216 forward to the people’s vote. I urge you to express your support by e-mailing your story to:kmpine@honolulu.gov.

To learn more about how BWS' unfair practices have affected our community, watch this KITV special report:
