HSTA teacher leaders talk about priorities for 2013-2014

News Release from HSTA September 25, 2013

Last year, HSTA leaders set off on a one-year listening tour.  Combined with input from an all-member survey, teacher leaders worked with our elected leaders to build three priorities to best support teachers as we work toward helping contribute to enhanced student learning that produces real results.

Teacher leaders from around the state discuss what our three priorities mean to them:

Volunteer teacher leaders feel strongly about our contributions to student learning and recently gathered with staff for a training.

Educating Our Keiki is Everyone’s Kuleana. Each of us – parents, students, teachers, business owners and legislators – has a part to play in helping our keiki succeed.  Hawaii’s future depends on what happens in classrooms from Hanalei to Hamakua.  With the proper respect, resources, and supports, teachers’ voices can help shape the future.
