GOVERNOR ABERCROMBIE CALLS SPECIAL SESSION IN SPITE OF OVERWHELMING PUBLIC OUTCRY AGAINST MARRIAGE REDEFINITION AND SPECIAL SESSION
News Release from Hawaii Family Forum September 9, 2013
At 1:00 p.m. today (September 9, 2013), Governor Abercrombie called a special session to commence on October 28th. The sole basis for his decision to call a special session as soon as possible, rather than wait for January, is his concern for the personal income tax filings that are required based on the December 31 deadline. (You can watch his announcement on the link above.)
The special session is going to start on October 28th and speaker Souki stated at a public meeting at Kapalama School last week that the bill will have to go through three readings in each house that will include public hearings and public testimony, but there will be no amendments accepted on the proposed bill. What that means is that the battle lines have now been drawn.

Please remember, that this issue is very emotional for some people and as Christians, we always have to be the bearers of light and truth. Keep the Governor, our legislators, and the people of Hawaii in your prayers.
