DLNR SEEKS APPLICATIONS FOR SHPD ADMINISTRATOR

HONOLULU -- The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) is accepting applications for a new administrator to lead the State Historic Preservation Division. Closing date for applications is August 30, 2013. Selection is expected to be completed within in the next three months.
“The State Historic Preservation Division is important to the preservation and protection of historic and cultural sites of Hawaii. It also plays a significant role in the state’s economy. Addressing and balancing these complex issues is the job of the SHPD administrator and staff,” said Aila. “We are looking forward to hearing from candidates who are ready to play a key role in the department as SHPD administrator.”
A screening committee consisting of DLNR Chairperson William J. Aila, Jr., DLNR First Deputy Esther Kiaaina, Bruce Coppa, Governor’s Chief of Staff, OHA Chief Executive Officer Kamanaopono Crabbe, and UH Anthropology and Ethnic Studies professor Ty Kawika Tengan, has been established to review applications and interview candidates.
