Unsolved Mysteries releases ‘Hawaiian Homicide’ podcast
Information sought in the 2010 murder of HSTA employee Amber Jackson
News Release from HSTA, March 15, 2023
Unsolved Mysteries has released a podcast on the cold case murder of a Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association employee. “Hawaiian Homicide” explores the death of Amber Jackson, who worked as a secretary in the union’s Kauaʻi office.
Colleagues reported her missing on June 23, 2010, and on July 3, 2010, hunting dogs found her body in a remote location in Kealia. Autopsy results indicate the 57-year-old suffered from blunt force trauma to her head and had injuries consistent with an assault. To this day, no one has been arrested for her murder.
Jackson’s family and friends are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her killer.
Matt Alexander, Jackson’s nephew, said, “We are still grieving our beloved Amber’s senseless and brutal murder and we are not giving up. We know that someone out there has information that could help solve the case. If you or someone you know has information that could shed light on the murder of Amber Jackson, please come forward.”
