Public invited to meet Honolulu CC chancellor finalists

Four finalists have been identified for the Honolulu Community College chancellor position and students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to meet them in open forums on Friday, October 14, in Loui Room 201 of Building 2 on campus.
Each finalist was selected by University of Hawaiʻi Vice President for Community Colleges Erika Lacro based on recommendations from the chancellor search advisory committee.
Lacro said, “Students, faculty, staff and community are encouraged to attend the open forums that will include Q&A sessions to meet and provide feedback about the finalists.”
After the campus visits and review of the feedback from the chancellor search advisory committee and others, Lacro plans to submit a recommendation for the Honolulu CC chancellor appointment to UH President David Lassner.

10:45–11:45 a.m. Micheal Glisson, dean of instruction, Health and Human Services, Lone Star College-North Harris, Texas
Noon–1 p.m. Elvin Ramos, dean, Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, De Anza College, California
1:15–2:15 p.m. Walter McCollum, former chancellor, Ivy Tech Community College-Richmond, Indiana
2:30–3:30 p.m. Karen Lee, interim chancellor, Honolulu CC

Public invited to meet Kapiʻolani CC chancellor finalists

Four finalists for the Kapiʻolani Community College chancellor position have been selected by University of Hawaiʻi Vice President for Community Colleges Erika Lacro based on recommendations by the chancellor search advisory committee. These finalists will participate in a final round of interviews that include a public forum for each candidate on October 13 on campus in Ohia 118.
The chancellor reports to Lacro, who welcomes feedback on each finalist’s forum session.
“UH faculty, staff, students and the public are encouraged to meet and learn more about the candidates at open forums at Kapiʻolani CC,” said Lacro.
Following the visits and review of the feedback from the chancellor search advisory committee and others, Lacro plans to submit a recommendation for this appointment to UH President David Lassner.

11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Charles Sasaki, vice chancellor for academic affairs, Windward CC
12:45–1:45 p.m. Kendricks Hooker, vice president of academic affairs, Southwest Tennessee CC
2–3 p.m. Misaki Takabayashi, associate vice president/vice dean of graduate school, Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University, Japan
