PARKER SCHOOL ANNOUNCES VACCINE REQUIREMENT
News Release from Parker School, August 3, 2021
KAMUELA, HI – Parker School will require employees and all eligible students to be vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, by Friday, October 1.
“The safety and wellbeing of our students, employees, and families remains one of our highest priorities,” says head of school, Stephen Dunn.
“Requiring students ages 12 and older and employees to be vaccinated is a new and important addition to our health and safety protocols,” said Dunn. “Last year we learned the impact and importance of human connection fostered by being on campus - this is something we value and want to preserve.”
Additionally, Parker will test all students and employees for COVID-19 prior to the start of the school year and provide weekly testing while infection rates remain high on island.
Exemptions will be reviewed for medical reasons or faith-based theological objections. Students who are currently not eligible (under 12) will be required to complete the vaccination process within 60 days of vaccine emergency authorization for their age group.
