Hey, people are still leaving Hawaii because of taxes and overregulation
From Grassroot Institute, July 30, 2021
Hawaii's population loss hasn't been in the news much lately, but it's still happening. We hear almost every day from Hawaii residents who are thinking of leaving, or from former Hawaii residents who already have left.
Among the latter are Doug and Jane Howard, who moved away in October 2020 for Albuquerque, New Mexico, after almost 20 years in the islands.
They shared their story with us recently, which we posted on our website as part of our ongoing "Why we left Hawaii" series. It is also on our Facebook page, where it has reached more than 3,000 people, many of whom have left comments, mostly supportive.
"We liked living in Hawaii," the Howards said, "but stupid regulations that never made much sense pushed us over the edge."
