THE HAWAII REPUBLICAN PARTY’S FRESH START WITH NEWLY ELECTED LEADERS
News Release from Hawaii Republican Party, May 17, 2021
HONOLULU, HI – The Hawaii Republican Party (HRP) elected brand-new State Executive Committee (EC) members on May 15th, 2021, during their virtual State Convention.
The new HRP EC members are as follows:
Chair: Signe Godfrey
Vice Chair of Coordinated Campaigns: Lynn Finnegan
Vice Chair of Candidate Recruitment & Training: Diamond Garcia
Vice Chair of Communications: Tiana Elisara
Vice Chair of Coalitions: Henry Vincent III
Vice Chair of Community Service: Jeff Coakley
Treasurer: Steve Holck
Secretary: Mele Songsong
Following the State Convention, the HRP anticipates a new, robust, and engaged Party that is ready to organize. This was indicated by the Party’s record-breaking member participation, a newly elected and highly skilled team, and true representation of the people of Hawai’i.
1. Record-breaking participation
There were more than 500 paid delegates to this year's Hawaii Republican Party State Convention, the most it has seen in the last 20 years.
Newly elected Chair Signe Godfrey says, “This is an exciting time. We are seeing new Republicans self-identify and join the Republican Party. There is a great opportunity to keep this momentum going and continue growing the party here in Hawai’i.”
2. A highly skilled team
Godfrey, a retired business owner who recruited hundreds of executives and management level people for businesses for over 30 years, also recruited the team that ran as a slate of candidates.
Chair Godfrey stated that she, “…wanted to run the Party like a business by recruiting the best talent for each of the positions. I believe that this team of independent and critical thinkers is dedicated to working as a team and already demonstrated their ability to put the Party before themselves.”
3. True representation of Hawai’i
As a bonus, Signe’s team also represents many of the demographics of Hawai’i.
Chair Godfrey states, "Hawaii is known to be the melting pot of the Pacific. As an added plus, these four men and four women between the ages of 23 and 79 represent the many cultures of the Hawaiian Islands to include Native Hawaiian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Samoan, Filipino, and Caucasian. These leaders have had tremendous experience leading Hawaii businesses and nonprofits, are community minded, and passionate about matters of faith, family, and freedom. This new executive committee plans to stand up for the people, keep Democrats accountable, and work towards 2022 to get more Republicans elected.”
