GOVERNOR LINDA LINGLE RELEASES COMPREHENSIVE GENERAL ELECTION DEBATE SCHEDULE

News Release from www.Lingle2012.com

HONOLULU – Following a decisive Primary Election victory, Governor Linda Lingle, candidate for Hawaii’s open U.S. Senate seat, today announced that she has accepted invitations to appear in 18 debates and forums in the 86 remaining days before the November 6 General Election, including four statewide television broadcast debates.

The debates and forums, which will be held on the islands of Hawaii, Maui, Kauai and Oahu, will give the people of Hawaii an unparalleled opportunity to engage in a discussion about issues facing our state and nation in this once-in-a-generation election. They are sponsored by a cross-section of local organizations and media outlets.

“This is a once-in-a-generation election and I believe the people of Hawaii deserve an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates on issues of local, state, and national importance,” Governor Lingle said. I am hopeful that my opponent will place the same priority on issue-oriented debates starting this coming week. The voters of Hawaii deserve and expect nothing less than a vigorous discussion of the issues facing our state and nation," Governor Lingle concluded.
