Honolulu Community College Announces Final Three Candidates for Chancellor

The Honolulu Community College Chancellor Search Advisory Committee has identified three finalists for the position of chancellor and has invited them to participate in a final round of interviews and open forums from Tuesday, April 10, through Wednesday, April 11, 2012.

The public is invited to meet the candidates at the open forum presentations on Tuesday, April 10, in the Loui Conference Center, Building 2, Room 201, at Honolulu Community College. The schedule for the public presentations is: 

 

  • 10:30-11:30 a.m. – Rafe Trickey
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. – Edward T. Knudson
  • 2:30-3:30 p.m. – Erika L. Lacro 

Edward T. Knudson is the former executive vice president of student learning at Moorpark College in California. He also previously served as vice president of academic affairs and dean of economic and workforce development at Bakersfield College in California, and division director of business and computer systems at Linn-Benton Community College in Oregon. Knudson received his master of business administration and bachelor of science in business management degrees from Oregon State University.

Erika L. Lacro is the vice chancellor of academic affairs at Honolulu Community College in Hawai‘i. She has previously served as Honolulu Community College's assistant dean and director of student services, as well as director of internship and career development at the School of Travel Industry Management at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Lacro received both her master's and bachelor's degrees in travel industry management from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She is a doctoral degree candidate in communication and information sciences at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

Rafe Trickey is the vice president of planning and institutional development at the College of the Marshall Islands (CMI). He has previously served as the vice president of student services at CMI, executive director of development and external relations at Citrus Community College in California, and the president and CEO of 11-99 Foundation. Trickey was also the founder and a board member of the Foundation for College Access Services. He received his doctor of education degree from the University of California, San Diego, master of science in education degree from the University of Southern California, master of international affairs degree from Columbia University, and a bachelor of arts degree in history and political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
