City and County of Honolulu is now accepting Grants In Aid applications

News Release from City and County of Honolulu, October 12, 2021

HONOLULU — The City announced that qualified nonprofit organizations can now apply for grants available through the City’s Grants in Aid (GIA) program for fiscal year 2023. In fiscal year 2022, over $8.8 million in GIA funds were awarded to 63 organizations.

“We encourage nonprofit organizations to submit grant applications to serve populations in need and provide services that benefit the people in our City,” said Joy Barua, Acting Director of the Department of Community Services. “We know there is need and we want to provide this assistance to those organizations that are making our communities better.”

The City Charter-mandated GIA fund administered by the Department of Community Services (DCS) was established by a voter initiative to serve economically and/or socially disadvantaged populations, or provide services for public benefit in the areas of arts, culture, economic development, or the environment.

Interested agencies may download information for grant proposal requests online at the Department of Budget and Fiscal Services Office of the Division of Purchasing website at.  http://bit.ly/honolulugiargp.
