COVID Pau Weekly

Aloha Kākou,   May 7, 2021

While the pandemic has not yet ended, I want to congratulate you on the progress made thus far. Your continued practice of safe behaviors – including mask-wearing, social distancing, and keeping to small gatherings – reflects how much you care for your community and the reason why we are doing of a good job of managing COVID-19 in Hawai‘i.

We’re now at a critical tipping point in the fight against the virus, and our ability to win lies in your hands. To date, over 50 percent of those 18 years and older have been fully vaccinated, yet we are still seeing double and triple-digit numbers of new cases each day, with many of those in the younger age ranges.

By getting the vaccine and encouraging your loved ones to do the same, we will be able to return to a comfortable level of normalcy and safety. I know we can get there with your help. Please use this newsletter as your resource for vaccination sites and share it with your ‘ohana, friends, and community.

Thank you and be safe,

Ray Vara
