HONOLULU COUNTY REPUBLICANS RE-ELECT BRETT KULBIS AS CHAIRMAN!

News Release from Honolulu Republican Party, April 1, 2019

Ewa Beach, Hawaii -- Republican delegates from across Honolulu county converged in Ewa Beach yesterday and decisively re-elected incumbent County Chair Brett Kulbis to another two-year term.

Following the majority vote in which the incumbent bested challenger Henry Vincent III, Kulbis expressed, “I’m humbled by the outpouring of support I’ve received for reelection.  With two newly-elected Republican legislators on Oahu in 2018, we are really beginning to turn things around.”

In his convention speech endorsing Kulbis, former Republican State Senator Sam Slom stated, “Brett has walked the walk and talked the talk,” citing Brett’s long record of accomplishments. Prior to the convention, Slom campaigned for Kulbis stating, “Since his election as Honolulu County Chair, Brett has been the hardest working County Leader I’ve seen in a decade. He has brought a breath of fresh air and leadership to the County Party when it needed it the most. I urge my fellow Republicans of Honolulu County to join me in supporting consistent conservative Brett Kulbis as our Honolulu County Republican Party Chairman.”

Kulbis and eight other officers were elected to two-year terms (2019-2021) for county party offices at the official county convention for the Honolulu County Republican Party held Saturday at Ilima Intermediate School in Ewa Beach.

“The way politics actually works, the 2020 election campaign officially began this past November once the votes were counted and the results of the General Election were announced. We are already hard at work laying the groundwork for more victories in 2020 and in the battle for public opinion over many policy differences with Democrats between now and then,” Kulbis added. “Just as important as elections,” Kulbis emphasized, “we are prepared to fight for Hawaii’s future with the majority party on issue after issue from Honolulu Hale to the State Capitol to Washington, D.C.  Having reached the economic and financial tipping point where families are increasingly packing up and moving away while those who remain here struggle more than ever, our days of going along to get along with Democrats are officially over.”

Certified winners of party officer races decided at yesterday’s county convention are Vice Chair Henry Vincent III, Secretary Boyd Ready, Treasurer John Kim, Vice Chair East Honolulu Kai Lorinc, Vice Chair West Honolulu P.M. Azinga, Vice Chair Central Oahu Jay St. John Payne, Vice Chair Leeward Oahu Diamond Garcia and Vice Chair Windward Oahu Matt Darnell.
