Mark Takai: 100 Days of Nothingness
By Andrew Walden @ 10:01 PM :: 4989 Views :: Congressional Delegation

Amazing: In his first 100 days, Rep Mark Takai openly touts that he has actually done absolutely nothing.

He has passed not one single bill (or even got a single amendment to a bill passed),

failed to bring home a single dollar,

has done nothing about the VA or homelessness that he championed.

He remains silent of fixing rail,

said nothing about Kenoi, and even

failed to make any promises on the Army downsizing in Hawaii.

The only thing he has done is taken multiple taxpayer financed junkets.

This looks more like Mark's excellent adventure (on taxpayer money) complete with photos with a few liberal big-wigs in Congress, who also have done nothing for Hawaii.

See for yourself...

100 days in

Aloha,         April 15, 2015

Today I am thrilled to be celebrating my 100th day in Congress.

While it's only been a few short months, so much has already happened as I adjust to this new job.

My swearing-in on January 6th was a great way to kick off my work on behalf of the people of Hawaii, and I’ve been pretty busy since then.

I wanted to share with you a few of the highlights from the past 100 days:

  • Appointed to the House Armed Services and Natural Resources committees
  • Served on the presidential escort committee at President Obama’s seventh State of the Union address
  • Introduced my first bill, the Filipino Veterans Family Reunification Act, which would fulfill our obligation to the families of Filipino veterans of World War II
  • Attended President Obama’s Oval Office signing of the Honouliuli National Monument Proclamation, which will preserve this historic internment camp site for the education of future generations
  • Joined Senator Hirono in attending the 50th anniversary commemoration of “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, Alabama, and presenting over 100 leis as symbols of peace, aloha, and healing
  • Participated in a bipartisan congressional delegation to the Asia-Pacific region, meeting with leaders of Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Korea, and Japan

These experiences are just the beginning of the important work you have entrusted to me as your representative in Congress.

If you haven’t seen them already, be sure to check out my feature segments on Hawaii News Now’s Inside Jobs: click here to watch them now!

As I reflect on these first 100 days, I am aware of the hard work still ahead. Working together we can move our country forward and improve the lives of all Americans.

Mahalo,
Mark Takai
