Green Targeted by Anti-Semitic Anti-Vaxxers

TGI: … Green has been continually bullied by his opponents and the Democratic party because they want to see records of all his income. Let’s also do the same for his opponents, everyone has skeletons in the closet.

Josh Green also has gone through racist rants of antisemitism amid protests outside his Honolulu home against the public health mandates meant to halt the spread of COVID-19 back in August of 2021.

When Hawai‘i announced restrictions earlier last year state and county workers had to show proof of vaccination or face weekly tests.

Last year 50 to 100 unmasked vaccine opponents gathered almost nightly outside the downtown Honolulu condominium building where Lt. Gov. Josh Green, who is Jewish, lives with his Hawaiian wife and two children, ages 14 and 10.

There were those yelling antisemitic rants into bullhorns and shining strobe lights into Green’s apartment.

Flyers with his photo and the words “Jew” and “fraud” had been plastered around the neighborhood….

Phoney Baloney: Branco waits until two days before primary to call on Super PAC to take down ‘sensational’ ads against opponent

HNN: … HNN Political Analyst Colin Moore said Branco has had many opportunities to denounce the ads.

“He didn’t and now he is,” Moore said. “I can’t explain that in any other way other than to think that he’s trying to rehabilitate his image at this point. This seems pretty opportunistic to me.” ….

234,000 Ballots Cast So Far

SA: … As of Wednesday over 234,000 ballots had been received via mail, dropped off at collection sites or cast in person at voter service centers. That’s 32% of the 730,000 ballots that were sent out to registered voters in Hawaii two weeks ago….

In Hawaii’s 2018 primary election — before all mail-in balloting — 286,180 votes were cast, representing 38.6% of eligible voters.

The number surged to a modern record of 407,190 votes, or 51.2% of eligible voters, in the 2020 primary. Mail-in was clearly the preferred method of voting in 2020, with 401,716 mail-in ballots cast.

By comparison, only 5,474 votes were cast in person in 2020, representing just 0.7% of ballots.

For Saturday’s primary, Colin Moore, director of the University of Hawaii’s Public Policy Center, expects that 350,000 votes will be counted in total when the polls close Saturday night….

COVID: No More Quarantine, No More 6 Feet

SA: … The state Department of Health says it plans to adjust its COVID-19 quarantine guidelines to align with those issued Thursday by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC dropped the recommendation that Americans quarantine if they come into close contact with an infected person, saying there is now significantly less risk of severe illness, hospitalization and death than earlier in the pandemic.

Additionally, the federal agency said people no longer need to stay 6 feet away from others or conduct routine daily testing at schools.

West Oahu Charter School Finances Expansion Through Municipal Bonds

SA: … To finance the development of its high school, DreamHouse has become the first charter school in the state to use municipal bonds as a source of funding.

As a charter school and state entity, DreamHouse itself cannot incur debt, Teece said. Instead, the bonds have been sold by the associated nonprofit DreamHouse Inc., a private organization dedicated to securing outside sources of funding for the school.

As a result, neither the state nor the charter school will bear the burden if the nonprofit is unable to repay the bonds, Teece said. The nonprofit has raised a total of $26.8 million from investors….

The charter school will begin renting DreamHouse Center from the nonprofit beginning in 2024 at a cost yet to be determined. In turn, the school’s rent will be used to repay DreamHouse Inc.’s bonds. Although the bonds have a three-year term, DreamHouse Inc. plans to refinance them into a U.S. Department of Agriculture loan after two years. It will have 30 years to pay off the USDA loan….
