Felon Should Learn to Follow Before Trying to Lead

Dear Editor,  February 12, 2018

Your fine article of February 11, 2018, about the felon-candidate now running for Maui mayor, is informative.

Most would like her to remain clean as well as sober.  The judge giving her five years of probation called her a success for that.

But not only did she commit an armed robbery, she continues to be a "greedy-grabby."  Her signs are popping up.  Yet the County Code is clear that political signs are illegal more than 75 days before an election, or more than 10 days after.  If her signs are up, that opens the door for all who want to jump the gun.  Though the County Code calls for one thing, is it going to be everyone jumping the gun now that the gun jumper has?

This is in addition to trying to grab the lead position for County Council on January 2, 2018.  She called for vote after vote for herself plus others.  The vote was 5-4 against her, as well as each other candidate whom she named.

In fact, our mayoral candidate, a high school graduate, is in no position to lead until she can follow those without guns.
